Margaret-Ohhh suprizes- That is one of the best things about spring- the
hidden treasures. The peas I direct seeded a month ago just to see what would
happen( old seeds) are now five inches tall thanks to my soda bottle cloches
and maybe I will get some peas! Gonna plant a bunch more for good measure.
Kale and chard and kolrabi from last year still producing. Freezias and
crocuses hanging out at the side of the beds- have NO idea how they got from
the front yard clear back here- and my beds are full of worms worms worms!
When I think that one year ago I set these 6 and 12 inch raised beds down
on layers of newpapers and hardpan and clay and now there is yummy soil
amost a foot down- it is hard to believe. I am learning a little bit at a
time.Weather been great, my nails are dirty, shoes are muddy and muscles are
sore-and this makes me a happy camper. My computer wizard boyfriend just
scratches his head and lets me borrow his truck. What more could a gal ask
for?. -Teri
