I use vinyl rope (1/4" thick) held by screws. Before planting I tilled one
square at a time and my rope is good to go for another few years. Works well
for me, but they vinyl flooring sounds like it could work too.

I've got radishes and parsnips sprouting! However, despite considerable
staring, the peas and lettuces are not doing much for me. I'm
disappointed!!! How long do these things take to come up anyway? They've
been in the ground 10 days now and the weather has been quite nice (50s-60s
highs, 40s lows). Do I give up and start over with new peas? Thanks.
