Dear Daniel,

I use slats from mini-blinds to divide my squares.  I remove them from the 
strings, etc., clean them a bit, cut to size and pin them down with a bit of 
floral wire.

I also use these slats, cut into about 3" lengths as plant markers.  I these 
blinds all the time on the curb on trash day - I've been working my way 
through one set of mini-blinds for over a year now.
