This year will be my first attempt at SQFT and I'm reading all the post
with interest. In a recent post Janet was talking about the age of the
roots.
My mother has a raised bed of asparagus that is probably 10 years old. As
I remember she has never really gotten much from it although each year I
see these long tall shoots. Could it be that the bed is not nearly fertile
enough? The roots produce but the stem is long and spindly.
Do you think these roots would be good to start another new bed with
greater emphases on the soil?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated?
Thanks,
