Planting by the moon and using only odd numbers in everything are old
Pagan traditions. You plant crops that grow above ground - peas,
tomatoes, corn, etc. with the rising moon, and those that grow below
ground, potatoes, turnip, carrots, etc. with the waning moon. The odd
number I'm not sure of, but I do know that I always do things in odd
numbers.
