I have had almost all of my lettuce and tomato seedlings eaten by an unknown pest. At first I thought it was because of cutworms because I have had problems with them in the past. But I was unable to find any in the ground near the stubs of the plants. Cutworms also leave the plant toppled over but the entire plant tops are gone. The pest ramains a mystery but I think it may be a grasshopper. I found one near my garden which was about 4-5 inches long. Could this be the pest which is eating my plants? Kurt (Southern California/Zone 9) It will be in the upper 80's today!
