Yes, neem has had problems in the past. Garden's Alive's version
and another commercial neem product called Bioneem use azadirachtin
with the neem extract. The EPA has been testing azadirachtin and finds
that it does not break down readily, as does neem, and it leaves behind
a toxic residue. This Green Light product is the first to use only
neem and a summer-weight horticulture oil as the vehicle. That's why
the USDA recommends Green Light's Rose Defense and Fruit, Nut & Veggie
Spray by name. Their scientists say that they are the only products
good for home use. There is a commerical version of neem also called
Trilogy that the USDA recommends for farmers.
