Hi Amy,
No, I didn't notice any unusual leaf smell. The fruit is quite aromatic,
perhaps this is what you were smelling? Your sense of smell is probably
better than mine, I wouldn't be surprised if Sungold leaves had a
different smell, they certainly taste different. Sorry I couldn't be more
