Hi Keith,
I use my own compost, and also supplement with composted steer manure
every spring (bought from Home Depot). Sometimes I use Kellogg's
Amend. (sure to get some flak for that.) Works for me. During the
growing, fruiting and harvesting season, I use liquid fish emulsion
every two weeks. I also put in some vermiculite and gypsum
occasionally (we have very alkaline soil). If you have acid soil, try
lime. I have been wanting to find a cheap source of concentrated
liquid seaweed or kelp extract, as I heard it is also a good addition
along with the fish emulsion, but so far no cheap source.
Good luck,
Shawn

I do not want to start a raging debate over organic or chemical fertilizers, but
I am in a quandary as to fertilizing my square foot garden. I would like to
hear how the folks on this list are fertilizing their garden, how you make it
(components) where you buy from etc...
Thanks for any information...
