I'm usually just pleased if I can get anything green to grow in lieu of yard
grass. Last Fall, however I walked across some STUNNING Zoyosa grass. They
said it held up in Tx conditions very well. (I know it's widely planted
here, but I had never encountered it. Sorta soft green, and very very soft
textured. Not as wide a blade as St Augustine, and DID stand up to high
traffic areas well.
I know there are a couple of web sites about sodgrowers, etc. You might try
a websearch on Zoyosa and see if it turns up anything.
