Grass in Big D

So, how do we grow grass in Dallas through the rainy season, freezing rain (post spring) season, and then the three (summer) months of 105 degrees (along with torrential tornadic rains!)? It seems that there has to be something out there that doesn't have to be soakable yet can withstand 24 hours without ten gallons of water (like I feel I pour into it during the summer: mornings and evenings).

I know that there are some grasses more suited to these extreme weather conditions. I have St. Augustine but have noticed a nasty ration of "Dallas grass" (i.e., weeds) sprouting up this year already. My apologies if these questions seem as if I am a lazy gardener but I prefer to spend time on the ornamental aspect of gardening versus the side which simply lays sod down!

Any help is appreciated. And Happy St Pats!
