Hi everyone,
Just got off another listserv where there was a discussion about the
virus hoaxes.
Basically, you CANNOT get a virus in your computer by opening an e-mail
message.
The only way to infect your computer is to DOWNLOAD A FILE that carries
a virus.
So breathe easy.
Strawberries by the square foot: I first got into SqFting when Mel's
show was shown on the Discovery Channel. He showed a strawberry pyramid
with tiers of 4, 3,2 and 1 foot.
The berries were spaced one foot apart.
My own pyramid didn't work as nicely--it takes a LOT of soil, but I got
great berries.
This year I am going to set up some 4 x 4 beds full of berries for my
berry loving little girl. BTW, I think everbearers tend to be sweeter
than the June bearing types.
I regularly pick June bearers at local farms for jam, and while they
make good jam, they're not the best for eating out of hand--and I've had
the same experience in other locals. Also, the everbearers or day
neutrals give LOTS of berries for a long time--and I'm greedy.
Northern Virginia/Maryland tomato, herb and other such lovers! Tom
DiBaggio, well known for his wonderful herbs and vegetable plants, has
opened a second store on a farm in Chantilly and has greatly expanded
the varieties they sell. I'm going to be out in Chantilly buying
"Arkansas Traveller" tomatoes, orange bell peppers and all sorts of
other good stuff. His plants are excellent and he sells them by the
plant, so you can get as many or as few as you like. E-mail me privately
if you need info/directions.
Hoping you're having better gardening weather than I am--I can't even go
out in my yard and start my peas in peat pots with this cold, WET
weather.......
