Hello List!
More than anything else (right now anyway), this is a test to see if I can
FINALLY write to the list. I subscribed sometime ago and tried posting some
questions, but never saw my posts show up...maybe this time will be
different.
After a long 15 years without having a veggie garden I'm finally in a
situation where I can put one in. Like my last garden a decade plus ago,
I've decided to go SqFt. I hope to tap into the knowlege now available on
this list and on the web - something that didn't exist back in the early
80's. Luckily, then I had Mel's book and the encouragement offered by the
several shows he did on tv (PBS?).
I've already planned my garden - six 4x4 beds, and one 4x12 which I plan to
use for my verticals. Hoping to take pics and share my successes on a web
page later on. I do have a question.
In Mel's recipe for the Perfect Soil Mix he uses sand. What kind of sand
are we talking about here? Simple question, but one that has bothered me
everytime I look at that page.
Thanks, and I hope this makes it through this time. And thanks to Mel for
his first book, SFG.
