Well this year I finaly did it! Our
winters here in Sacramento are not very severe so this year I thought I'd try
one of those Siberian tomatos that are supposed to produce fruit in only 48
days. Planted the seeds on 2/21 and put them in the garden on
3/8. They were small and had no hardening off, but what the heck, these
things are supposed to be from Siberia!!
Anyways they sat for a week, then started
growing, still no blossoms to date, but by the looks of them they should be
showing busd before next weekend. Anybody else out there tried this type of
tomato. With our summer temps over 100 I only spaced them 1 foot apart,
figuring they'll come out early and I can use the space for pole lima
beans.
Lest you northers think we Californians have it
to easy, it snowed today here, course it was almost 50 degrees at the time, but
I took a pix of the wife with snowball beside our Siberians!
Just joined the group today and even though I
have been a sqft'er for a number of years, am looking forward to learning all
the little secrets eveybody out there knows.
