Chad, do you see little gnats flying around your house? If so, the "little
white slug like thing" is probably a gnat larva, which is a very common and
serious problem. I make sticky traps to capture the flying gnats. I put
them strategically in place BEFORE I see even one of those harbingers of
death. You can make your own sticky traps by applying commercially available
sticky trap goo to pieces of yellow plastic. I've found the application of
Gnatrol to be the only effective organic means to erradicate the larvae once
they've infested the planting media. Gnatrol is a strain of BT specific to
gnats. Common BT does not work.
