You should still harden your plants off even with the use of the WOW if they
were raised indoors under lights. It will take a few days for the leaves to
adjust to the strength of the sunlight. My suggestion for the future is to
use a cold frame to raise your plants in, and then transplant to the garden
and protect with a WOW. This is how I do my tomatoes. In my area, frost is
not too much of a problem this time of year, but I have to deal with really
rainy and windy conditions. The WOW's provide wonderful protection under
these conditions. As far as hardening off, I have a little sheltered area on
the South side of my house to protect the plants from the wind. I built a
frame that holds shade material (the kind for summer use on a green house). I
double the thickness for the first couple of days, and then gradually expose
the plants to more and more light. The last couple of days I leave the plants
out overnight weather permitting. This minimizes the time I have to spend
tending to plants.
