Hi Melody,

They might be fine for using as mulch under bushes, like azaleas. BUt I
am no expert and you should get some more opinions.

What you can do is run out to the local thrift store and buy some old
pillowcases and fill them halfway full with the shavings and tie the
pillow cases closed with some ribbon or string. Then put them in your
closets, basement, or attic to make the rooms smell wonderful, they'll
absorb stale air and freshen the room.
