Gardening in Colorado

I have a friend who just moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.  She wants me to
send here some seeds.  I'm from Houston and can't think a place with a more
different climate and soil.  What varieties of tomatoes and corn, etc. might
do well there?  She says her growing season extends into October.
