Richard, you mentioned using the weed barrier fabric and pine
mulch between your beds. As I finish laying down my beds this
summer, I was planning a similar approach. I was wondering,
however, if you found that the fine bark was tracked around
too much when wet? How thick did you lay down the mulch? The
other possibility was laying down some paving stones and
encouraging thyme and other creepers to grow between the
stones, but that seems a bit "elegant" for simple garden
paths.
My beds are about 3 feet apart to handle the width of my
garden cart, and just barely wide enough for a friend's
wheelchair although there isn't room to turn around. I'm
thinking any type of mulch will be too messy for wheelchair
access if it is wet.
