Anyway, peppers grow pretty good here, but the dry heat can be hard on them so a fellow gardener suggested placing a bowl of water between the pepper plants so when it evaporates the peppers get some of the moisture (like creating humidity). We have 3 sweet banana pepper plants planted in a group (one per square) and we tried placing a bowl of water in the middle of the three and they are producing blooms. If you have a problem with dry air you might give it a try. It should work for anyone in the pepper family. Some good hot peppers for this area are serranos, habaneros, and hot banana peppers.
