It is my understanding that cross-pollination can be a problem with corn and sweet/hot peppers, because the seeds are an integral part of the taste of both. With the peppers, apparently the hot peppers are a less hot, and I read here that somebody said that their sweet peppers were bitter. Unfortunately for me, my good intentions to seperate the peppers were for naught--they got mixed up in my friends greenhouse and we have no idea which are which! So I'll have first hand anecdotes as the summer goes on. With corn you can avoid cross-pollination by planting different varieties two weeks apart.
