Thanks so much for the help and for letting me know the list got my plea! I will try the blossom set and see what happens. I don't think it's too warm (yet) the plant is about 4 feet away from the cinderblock wall. I don't know about a mineral problem. It is planted with one other patio in a huge bag of potting soil (called a growing bag--you just cut two slits and plant your transplants and watch them grow). We saw this method in a book and decided to try it with two patios. The rest of our tomatoes are square foot. The other patio in the bag is doing fine--could there still be a mineral problem? We fertilized about two-three weeks ago but I will give them some more. I could be overwatering I suppose since the growing bags are not exposed to the wind and are self-contained they don't lose water as fast and I tend to forget that when I water the rest. Anyway, the suggestions were good and I'll give them a try (less water, more food, and blossom set). Another question: We bought a six pack of eggplants at Lowe's and they were a little yellow when we bought them. We put them in the garden, fed them, watered them and they are still a yellowish green. Having never done eggplant before, is this their natural color? I'm used to the green of squash and tomatos, but these are a little more limey yellow green than the sugar snap peas (boy are those growing!). Should we worry or do something to help them and if so, what? *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe, send to: listserv@umslvma.umsl.edu the body message: unsubscribe sqft See http://www.umsl.edu/~silvest/garden/sqft.html for archive, FAQ and more.
