As neem leaves are terribly bitter it could be a possible reason that they
recommend that you do not apply the neem extract to food plants. The
residue of the neem extract left on the surface of a fruit would change the
taste of the fruit. Or, Rose Defense could have something else besides neem
added to it.

Neem otherwise is used a lot in Indian medicine so definitely is not poisonous.
