Good TRASH or bad TRASH????

The folks at the local cotton gin allow me to have all of the "Gin
Trash" I can haul away.  Gin Trash is the leftover parts of the cotton
that they do not use.  This has been sitting out back in a big pile
since last year.  My question "Would this be harmful in any way to my
vegetable garden?
