I planted them in a 4X4 bed and let them sprawl--but not matter what I did it wouldn't have made much of a difference. It's a community garden and the rats were having a feast--they finally treated the whole area and we couldn't garden at all that fall. The good side was I was pregnant and really not up to much gardening. The bad news is my garden was a mess in the spring and I'm still trying to restore it--two years later. Oh, well, I'm trying Baby Bear pumpkins again this year and praying Cinderella's mice stay far far away.......
