Garlic

I have a question concerning garlic.  We had some garlic cloves in the
kitchen that had sprouted so we decided to put them outside in the
garden.  3 of them are doing quite well (the green tops are now about 4
inches high). My question is  When do we harvest it.  I have never done
garlic before and don't know how to tell when it's ready to be dug up.
Can anyone help?
