Hi,
One response was reported in with good prelimary results using the salad
oil/dish soap recipe on his aphids.
My favorite herb book (The Encyclopedia of Herbs and Herbalisms by Malcolm
Stewart (and others) published by Cresent) is a wonderful source of
information for a variety of organic or natural approaches.
Here are a few other suggestions mentioned for aphid control:
Nicotine (poisonous!) Nicotiana tabacum
Derris (Derris elliptica and Derris malaccensis)
Pyrethrum Daisy (Chriysanthemum cinerariifolium)
Tansy, and most members of the chrysanthemum family are rich in pyrthrum
For those of you trying hot pepper or garlic sprays, I would suggest adding
a tablespoon of cooking oil to the mixture before applying. This will help
it stick to the leaves.
Pyrethrum is also available in a powdered form.
Pam
