Hi friends! I know from experence to plant tomatoes deeply. New roots will emerge from the buried stem. Not watering the transplant encourages deeper root growth so that the plant is better able to tap the existing ground water. Now, planting pepper tansplants deeper will stabilize the plant, but will new roots emerge from the burried stem? Is the plant stability the result of these new roots, or just from the physical effect of deeper primary (original) roots? I will just have to conduct an experiment, but does anyone have any ideas or experience?
