Clark Womack asks,

I just had 2 raised beds built by a pro in January. Because we have a slope
to deal with, they're higher in the back than the front (5 courses of
pressure-treated wood aboveground vs. 3)--kind of a stairstep arrangement.
My husband and I were noodling around the beds weeding and planting this
week and he casually mentioned how very convenient it was to work the higher
beds rather than bending over a lot to deal with the lower beds.
Although it definitely costs more to go high, I recommend it for your back's
sake. None of us is getting younger....
