A warning to those who try not to use pesticides in their garden.
I was out in the garden with Alexander picking the morning's strawberries
when I felt a light most. At first I thought it was rain, but then I
smelled it! I was being sprayed with diazinon! TrueGreen/ChemLawn was
spraying the trees of a neighbor and the overspray was covering my entire
garden! The trees were a good 50 ft and a hedge away from my garden, but I
still got covered.
Of course I went right in and bathed my little boy and myself, then called
to complain. (I wonder if I should make more trouble?) Then went out and
soap sprayed my whole garden twice. I will have to assume that most of it
got washed off...
My real wonder is how often this has happened in the past and I didn't
know. Alexander is in the habit of just eating the strawberries as they
ripen... I really want him to be able to do this.
