I think I am going to declare my garden done for the summer. I still have
some corn to harvest, and a few tomatoes and peppers will straggle on, but
in order to prepare for the fall planting, I am going to cut down
everything else.
Summer gardening is such a heartbreaking chore in Florida. It's too hot,
the mosquitoes are rampant (where they don't spray) and most things die
anyway. I have just about broken the habit of trying to keep things
growing, so I think I will go cold turkey.
If the beds are clear by June 1, then I can solarize the one that got
nematodes, move the two that are taking up the space of six, and build four
more. I want to restructure the trellisi that we just discussed (anyone
know of a cheap source of strong netting?), and bury a pipe from the pump
so I don't have hoses all over the yard. I also still have to build the
trellisi for the Kiwi, grape and (Thornless!) raspberries.
Actually, now that I think of it, I have about twelve summers worth of
work to do this summer....

Hey! I finally got my WEB Page back up!

And parts of it actually work!
