I grew up on the saying that parsley, carrots, dill had to go to the Devil 
7 times before they could sprout. Meaning, don't hold your breath! But they 
WILL come up. Keeping the ground damp and covered helps germination 
somewhat. (Keep a damp burlap bag or lay a board over dampened soil, but be 
sure to check daily for any emerging fronds.) Oh, and be sure to keep those 
devils at bay!
