These stock panels are very sturdy, yet they will readily flex to make the U-shape.  Easiest way is to secure one end with stakes or whatever then just push the other end in as far as you want it and stake it down as well. I usually haul them in the pickup with no trouble, which means the 16 foot panel is arched into about 8 feet of horizontal space. Here in Ohio we buy them at Quality Farm and Fleet, in Missouri it was Orscheln's...usually a farm-type store has the best prices.  Hope this helps...

Martha Wells wrote that she makes "nifty trellis" by bending one of these stock panels into a "U" shape.  If they're so sturdy, how do you bend them, Martha?  I've got a need to do so but wonder how!
