I am in zone 5 (at least by the authorities...we are on a peninsula
jutting out into Lake Michigan...are we talking micro-climates or
what!)  Anyway, most of us home gardeners here had a tremendous pepper
year. This in a year when tomatoes seldom started ripening until mid
September and in the main sized up, turned red, cracked, and succumbed
to funguses, all in about ten days.

Strange season. ( But I am very tired of hearing about El Nino.)
