I don't know if I'm bucking the system, but I daily bury all my fresh veggie scraps/trimmings and coffee grounds in my current growing garden. And I don't put more thatn a cupful or so in any one spot. In about a week to 10 days the matter is seems to usually be broken down to the point that I can no longer discern where or *what* I buried. I'm told that the process of breakdown can rob nearby plants of nutrients (i.e. nitrogen) but it seems to not be a problem in this climate. Anyone else do this? Mischele In Tampa
