I couldn't agree more. I just toss anything I find into my pile. When
it's done, it's done. I toss all my kitchen compostables out my window
all winter (drives my husband nuts). It lands in the perennial bed and
by spring is mostly composted. Whatever isn't I toss dirt over as I
plant and weed.

I bought one of those compost turners that look like a cane with a
doo-jigger on the end. But I just don't have the strength to do much
with it and I can never get it very far into the pile anyway. I know I
could speed up the process but have limited energy to go around chasing
after compostibles anyway so I just toss it in and let it cook at its
own speed.

I used to hay garden a lot, ala Ruth Stout. I hate to tell you how often
I just lifted up the hay and tossed stuff under...

Happy composting.
