Re: sqft: Happy T-Day/vermiculite

Hello all,

Vermiculite and perlite not only retain water, they also allow air pockets in
the soil.  Especially in soil that compacts tightly, like sand and clay.  I
usually add peat moss or, since its very abundant in SE Alabama, pine straw.
 I will run the lawn mower over it (with a bagger attachment, of course) for
fine material to work into the soil, and add the whole pine straw as mulch
around the plants.
