Re: Winter must be closing in

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Cyn,

 Now I am REALLY jealous.

I had blossoms on my tomato plants, but we have been getting 60 degree highs
as a projection for our weather. I figured we were on our way to cold
weather, so I figured it made good sense to pull them out. I hope I wasn't
too hasty. What do you think? I live in Fresno, CA. our zone is 9
although sometimes people say we are 8. I would like to know for next year.

I have to praise the wonders of this cocoa mulch. I must have found at
least 30 tomatoes that had fallen off of the vine, and were sitting on the
ground for, I can't imagine how long. No rot, and perfectly clean. Oh I
forgot, I also put a layer of plastic mulch underneath the cocoa mulch. All
I can say is ... I had happy tomato plants this year. I intend to do this
again next year.
