My Own Dog..a pest

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

I've been trying to garden in Florida for at least 20 years now
and have not had much success ( not sure why). I finally have all
my gardens in order, they are most of the way weeded, and things
could look real good for gardening for me, except... we have this
puppy, a 60+ pound golden retriever that is pretty destructive.
So, I decided to be one step ahead and really work hard on redoing
the gardens and putting up fencing all around them. I am buying
the middle size fencing, because if it is too high, I won't be able
to get into the gardens. It looked like this would work to keep the
dog out, but, yesterday, I found him with his head over the fence
chomping in the area where beets were starting to grow :(
Today, I saw him in the middle of the garden area ( the mulched
part). He hopped over one of the fences to the middle of the
garden area. Fortunately, he did not ( to my knowledge), get into
any of the gardens. Its just the fact that he can still get in
if he wants to, that makes it so disheartening. Anyone else have
problems with their dogs getting into their gardens? Any suggestions
or ideas?
