I had a moderate to poor year. Got good Peas, lettuce, beans and
broccoli early, then fought mildew all summer. Two zukes off of 8
plants, Half a dozen tomatoes after the first determinate harvest (That
wasn't too bad, but I only had two plants so I only got maybe 30
tomatoes), My HeatWaves are still growing though and have 20-30 big
green tomatoes on them right now.
We ate several Cukes, but had to cut off part of almost every one due
to worms. Zero Yellow squash from 4 plants, Zero watermellons, zero
carrots (well, several 1" ones), Zero onions, zero garlic, (both of
these are still trying though).
I set aside two beds to test the Bio-organics Soil Fungus thing. Both
beds preformed -exactly- the same. I set it up so that it would be a
blind test of just the fungus, but I didn't even bother to find out
which bed had the Innoculant in it since the results were so close.
There might have been a difference of half a pound total produce between
the two. I've replanted in them, and when diging into them I judged that
the amount of Worms were about the same too. I'm now deep mulching them
and will use them as no-till gardens next year.
Thaat's the bad news. The good news is that the Fall garden seems to be
growing well. We'll see how the harvest is around early December.
