I've used Instant Mashed Potatoes for years. The rats eat it, then go
find water, then die.
So, make sure there is water in a place that you can get to to clean
up.
The thing with rats is that they are smart. They will try a little of
what ever they find then see if they get sick. If not they will go back
and eat the rest. So they eat some IMP and it's fine so they go back and
stuff themselves.
This means that you have to keep the IMP dry and replenished for a few
days.
