Hey Melissa,
   Your posts have been deleted. I need some more info on your garden.
   I wouldn't worry too much about your slugs, as you say you have a lot of
black beetles around. The beetles will keep the slug population in check. It
doesn't sound to me like that is what is attacking your garden anyway. From
what I can tell, it sounds more like cut worms or root maggots. But again, I
need to know what plants are being  eaten before I can begin to suggest
solutions.
