Re: broccoli buggies

Those are Imported Cabbage Worms, the larvae of the pretty yellow butterflies
you see around your broccoli and related plants, and are best dealt with
before they get too big. Bacillus Thuringensis, an organism that affects only
caterpillars, can be purchased in a powder or liquid form (Dipel is one
brand). Hand pick any you find now, then apply the BT thoroughly, and again
every week or after it rains. Next season, apply it before you see the little
green guys for better success.

Yikes! My broccoli crop has been decimated by liitle green caterpillars - i
picked off about 8 of them this morning - I still have a few broccolis left
- any suggestions how to rid them - This is my first bug infestation as I
usually don't get buggies on my city rooftop garden - ive seen soap and
water posted as a common way to rid buggies - will this work with my little
green guys -

Thanks, Mark
