Actually, this list is extremely slow right now so I don't think anyone
will mind a little conversation.
The power company mulch will probably compost where it sits, putting it
on too soon might not be as good as waiting. You can deal with that
later.
One of the reasons I like SqFt Gardening is the way that big jobs get
cut into small ones. Weeding is easy if you only have one square to do.
Same with soil conditioning, I have two five gallon buckets with lids
that I keep in the back seat of the car and I drop by the local stable
every now and then for a load for my compost pile. While I use No-till
on my established beds, I am trying to build up some soil for new beds
and I don't mind doing it slowly. I know this has little to do with your
situation, but I was thinking you could do something similar to start
your beds. In other words, one managable peice at a time. What I used to
do was dig out one -cubic- foot at a time and overfill it with partly
composted stuff, dry clippings, and earthwormy dirt. I did one every day
or so and started a second round before the year was over. What a good
garden that was! Of course now I have to start over...
I am sure that your Horticultural clippings will be OK in the beds.
Unless you use a lot of poison on them. Some things are residual. Also
some Yard services will put a bag on for you if you ask. If not maybe
another service will... while mulching mowers are good for your grass,
you might want a few seasons of grass for your garden.
Fish can wait. I would think that most of the nutrition would be wasted
over the winter anyway (Some Northerners may correct me on this). I can
give you some Fish Emulsion Experience later if you want.
28 acres?!? I am so jealous here on my 1/3 of one acre...
