The kids tried both ways - shelled and unshelled.  We had success with both
sprouting.  In fact, some of the ones in shells sprouted before the
unshelled ones.  Nature is very determined to reproduce!

I believe they told me after the last frost.  Weplanted in APril and in May
in mid Alabama.
