I no longer have the iris beds so I only have a few iris
blooms now. I used to have a folder each year on my computer and saved the
iris photos from this site for blah winter days when there were no blooming iris
to adore. I miss the site and I really miss my iris beds...but time
marches on and the acreage has been gone now for almost 14 years...heart surgery
takes away a lot of things and the few iris I have at this second house since
then are certainly appreciated for the short bloom time we have.

I miss the old days when these forums were active... so for old times sake,
I hunted down these photos I'd posted last year to the Iris-Hybridizers
Facebook page (which I still just don't find anywhere near as useful).
I
thought that maybe some of the other Iris-Talk and Iris-Photos lovers might
appreciate a real post on here. ;)
This is a diploid [24 chromosome
type] MTB-ish seedling that comes from an unregistered seedling of mine [which
is 'Vibrant Rose' X 'Clown Pants']. I'm not sure what the pollen parent was.
I'd done several crosses on that seed parent and lost the label on this
particular batch. I've got just a couple of seedlings similar to this now and
plan to start interbreeding them, with hopes of intensifying the _expression_ of
the turquoise and bringing it out onto the standards and falls. Currently I'm
only really seeing it clearly on the stylearms.
