Well that is true, but most times people pick a similar level of jpeg
compression for their pictures. Given that, it is still true that larger
pictures generally mean larger files although the increase in size
depends a lot on the method used to make the picture bigger (or obtain a
larger initial image) and the dithering algorithms used. It is also true
that the higher the compression level used the more "lossy" the
compressed file is.
