Subject: [iris-photos] Mom Occ rebloom

Hi

A local iris fanatic told me a few weeks ago that her Momentous Occasion was heading up for some late rebloom. My response was "so you've got it in part of the garden that has acid soil" She replied that she didn't think it was acid there, but later rang me to say that yes it was.  Reason for the question is that I'm sure that MomOcc is one of those rare creatures that only reblooms in acid soil. It reblooms only sporadically for me.
Mike and George Sutton once asked me if it had ever rebloomed for me, as it never had for them, but they had heard that it had rebloomed for Aitkens and Cy Bartlett. My guess was that it is pH related and this latest rebloom may confirm this. Has any one else had MomOcc rebloom for them, and if so, what is you pH.
