Subject: [iris-photos] CULT: Rebloom and color

On this list, we have often discussed how the color of flowers varies according to light, film, etc.  Here are three photos of STEALTH FIGHTER as it rebloomed today as a cut flower (cut 10 days ago).  The photos were taken minutes apart with a digital camera. STEALTH FIGHTER is described in the register as "S. deep purple; style arms purple; F. velvety black overlay on red violet; beards deep purple;".  The first photo was taken in full shade; the second in lighter shade, and the third in full sun.  Note the shift from blue-violet to red-violet and the black sheen on the falls, which only becomes apparent in the sunlight.  --  Griff
