The only trouble I had growing LAs was my lack of water (Problem solved with the addition of a new well!) in an area with too much sandy soil.
 
Now that water is not an issue, the few LAs I have left are making great strides with expected bloom again next year.
 
I'm in a zone 4b.

I wonder if they would survive and grow in a zone 6a garden? Unfortunately LA irises are not widely known/distributed in Germany so far.
